    What is Dragon Tiger?

Dragon Tiger is often seen as the Asian version of Baccarat or Punto Banco. Many people think the game originated in China, but it actually originated in Cambodia.

This card game is played with eight decks, which are shuffled together to form the playing pile. The game is very similar to baccarat, but is a faster and simpler version.

The table is divided into two sections: a Dragon side and a Tiger side. The dealer always deals two cards, one on the Tiger side and one on the Dragon side. The game revolves around predicting which card will be higher: the Dragon or the Tiger.

The gameplay is very fast-paced and easy to understand. You play alone with the dealer at the table; it’s not a game you play with other players. Since Dragon Tiger has Asian origins, the playing field is usually designed in an Asian style. The dragon appears on the left side of the screen and a tiger on the other side.

How do you play Dragon Tiger?

Dragon Tiger has simple gameplay. You bet on either the dragon or the tiger. If you guess correctly, you win money. Below, we’ll provide more details about the rules, bets, side bets, and what you need to do to win.

    Game explanation and rules

Dragon Tiger is available in the live casino. When you start the game, the gaming table immediately appears. On the other side of the table, you’ll see a croupier. The studio or background is usually Asian-themed. The playing field is clearly divided into a Tiger side and a Dragon side. You can place your bet at the bottom of your screen. The results of previous rounds are displayed to the left or right of the playing field.

After the dealer deals the cards, you have 15 seconds to place your bet. The cards are ranked as follows: the Ace has the lowest value and the King has the highest value.

    Betting options

You have a choice of four possible bets, plus optional side bets. The regular bets are: Dragon, Tiger, Tie, or Suited Tie. Bets can be placed from €1 up to a maximum of €25,000 per round. How much you win depends on the risk of your bet. If you take low risk, the payout will be low.

    1. Dragon – If you choose this bet, you’re betting that the Dragon side will draw the highest card. The payout is 1:1. If the draw is successful, you lose half your bet and get the other half back. This bet has an average house edge of 3.7%.

    2. Tiger – This is the same 1:1 bet as Dragon. The only difference is that it wins when the Tiger side has the highest card. The house edge on this bet also averages 3.7%.

    3. Tie – If both cards have the same value, the outcome is a tie. The traditional payout for this bet is 8:1, with a massive house edge of over 30%. Fortunately, Evolution and Pragmatic Play Live have offered a much more favorable payout of 11:1. This brings the house edge down to 10.4%.

    4. Suited Tie – You win if both cards have the same value and suit. The payout is 50:1. The house edge is approximately 14.0%.

Players who want an extra dose of excitement and risk can choose to place side bets.

    Side bets

Some Dragon Tiger variants offer the following side bets:

    • Big/Small: You win the Big bet if the card drawn is an 8 or higher. You win the Small bet if the card drawn is a 6 or lower. If a 7 is drawn, you lose regardless of your bet.

    • Odd/Even: You win the Odd bet if the card drawn is an Ace, 3, 5, 9, Jack, or King. You win the Even bet if the card drawn is a 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or Queen. If you draw a 7, you lose regardless of your bet.

    • Red/Black: The odds of winning this side bet are 50/50. You’re betting on whether the card drawn will be Red or Black. This side bet has no house edge.

Side bets have an average payout percentage of 92%.

    Win with Dragon Tiger

The highest card wins the game. If the cards are of the same value, for example, both cards are 7s, it’s a tie. If the cards are of the same value and also have the same suit, for example, both sides have a 6 of diamonds, it’s a suited tie.
